Evans (about Thor 2 and Cap 2): It’s going to be an issue trying to orchestrate the reasons why we don’t call upon each other. (x)

“Women are expected to be nice and sweet, to make other people feel comfortable. A woman who says ‘hey, I think there’s a problem here’ is being ‘negative.’ A woman who doesn’t smile while she’s being harassed is ‘humourless.’ A woman who prefers to stay focused on tasks is a ‘cold bitch.’ Significant gendering is involved here; women have an obligation to look and act a certain way and when they don’t, they need to be hassled until they do.” —

Please don’t call Slumdog Millionaire - that movie by a British white man and written and performed primarily in English - an Indian movie. I will gladly recommend Indian movies made by Indian people that can show you different classes and cultures and religions, because diversity like that exists!!!!1! The fact that that one story is apparently going to define what people think of all of India is bullshit, especially because a) it is not a great movie and b) there are Indian movies (good movies) that will never be taken as seriously because it doesn’t have white people’s stamp of approval.

“There was a slightly jarring moment when a fan asked the panel if there would ever be a female Doctor, and Steven [Moffat] pointed out it would be entirely possible, but then asked for a show of hands who would like to see that happen. This got about 50% of the audience raising their hands, but then he asked how many people would switch off the show if there was a female Doctor, and 20-30% of the fans put their hand up, to a certain amount of gasping from everyone else.” — Anglophenia’s report from Sunday’s panel at the DW UK convention. Holy shit. (via nom-chompsky)
