I don’t know if I ‘ship Mal/Kaylee, but I do love them together. They’re sweet and I love how Mal talks to her - softer around the edges (although I suppose that’s part of what makes Mal a great captain - he knows how to interact with every member of his crew).

My favourite relationship on this show was Mal-Zoe, though - something about wartime buddies and becoming the only person each of them trusts so fully is heartbreaking and perfect to me. And they’ve seen each other at their worst, and they completely support each other without having to say anything out loud, and ugh, I love that dynamic so much.

And the canon ‘ships on this show never worked with me, anyway - especially Kaylee/Simon, although that’s probably because I never really liked Simon.
